When we're buying from our suppliers,
the sky's the limit if the product is good. Our typical purchase can be anything from 50 to 100,000 units.
Our buyers are always looking for
clearance purchases, including remainder books, end of lines, over stocks, bankrupt stocks and cancelled orders.

Our booking-in system is quick and efficient, and the scale of
our extensive 100,000 sq ft warehouse means we're able to
buy in large quantities at a time. It also gives our suppliers
a single delivery point.
Our buyers have the skills and experience to
make instant decisions and on the spot purchases, as we don't like to waste anyone's time. They also
source directly from factories in China. In some categories
up to 90% of our products are own-brand products imported directly from factories in China, India and other countries in
Europe and South America.
In 2009 we imported more than 1,500 TEU containers. Because of the impressive volumes we buy,
we deal direct with factories abroad. Whilst we always look to support our good suppliers, we are constantly
looking for new and better deals - shipping lines and
freight forwarders wishing to quote should contact our Import Manager.
All our purchases are sold through our stores and
website, we never sell-on unsold stock. We also commit to
a firm sale on all orders. Unlike our competitors, we buy all books and products at a discounted price and
never ask for sale or return items.
Every year we have
three sales to clear our end of line products: January Sale, Spring Sale and End of Summer Sale. Our buyers are always looking for
one-off WOW lines to support these promotions.
