Easy Air Fryer Cinnamon Buns in 15 Minutes!

Bring the bakery to your home.

These easy air fryer cinnamon buns are pure morning magic. Warm, sticky, and bursting with toasty cinnamon goodness, they smell like a trip to the bakery — but you don't need to leave the house!

Made with premade pizza dough, they skip the proving and go straight to the good part: golden knots of buttery, sugary joy. Serve with a coffee or hot chocolate and prepare to drool.

Why You'll Love these Buns

• Ready in just 12 minutes with no proving.

• Buttery, cinnamon-sugar filling that melts in your mouth.

• Made with premade pizza dough — yes, really!

• Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack.

Top Tip: Most supermarkets now stock pizza dough. The balls are better than the pre-rolled, as you can get the dough to a nice thickness when rolling it out.

Cinnamon Buns

PREP 5 minutes COOK 10-12 minutes MAKES 4

Ingredients (Makes 4 Buns)

- Flour, for dusting

- 400g pizza dough

- 60g butter, softened

- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

- 3 tbsp demerara sugar

- 1 tbsp demerara suger for the top

- 1 egg, beaten

- Olive oil spray

Method

1. Prep the dough: Flour your work surface and unwrap your dough. Roll the dough out to a large rectangle about 1–2cm thick.

2. Make the filling: In a blender or a bowl, combine the butter, cinnamon and 3 tablespoons of sugar to form a soft, spreadable paste.

3. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C for 4 minutes while you assemble the buns.

4. Spread & roll:  Leaving an inch at the bottom and the top, evenly spread the butter mixture all over the dough. Fold over the bottom inch, then slowly and tightly roll up the dough into a sausage.

You may want to flour your hands, as the next step gets a bit messy.

5. Slice & shape: Slice the dough sausage in half lengthways and then in half again, so you end up with four quarters (they will start to open up and look a bit messy, but don’t worry). Twist each one into a knot and tuck the ends underneath.

6. Top & bake: Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle over the remaining sugar. Spray the air fryer with oil, then place the buns directly on the crisper plate, evenly spaced. Cook at 180°C for 10–12 minutes until golden.

7. Cool & serve: Leave to cool slightly before serving.

Serving Suggestions

• Dip into coffee, hot chocolate, or chai.

• Add a drizzle of icing or cream cheese glaze.

• Serve warm with fresh fruit or yoghurt for brunch.
