Materials:

- Cardboard

- Ink pads

- Black felt tip pen

- Hole punch

Step 1: Press your finger onto an inkpad and stamp it onto the bookmark. Repeat with different fingers and colours to create a fun mix of shapes and sizes. Let the prints dry fully so they don’t smudge.

Make & Create ink pads in red, blue, and green.

Step 2: Once the fingerprints are dry, use a black felt‑tip pen to add faces, arms, legs, hats, wings — anything you like. Children can recreate characters from their favourite stories or invent brand‑new ones. This step is brilliant for sparking imagination and storytelling.

Black fine liner is drawing faces onto the colourful fingerprints.

This fingerprint bookmark is a joyful reminder that creativity doesn’t need screens or complicated supplies. With just a few simple materials, kids can turn their own fingerprints into tiny works of art that brighten up any book. Whether they keep it, gift it, or make a whole collection of quirky characters, this craft brings a playful spark to reading time.
