- Envelope, approx. 16cm x 17.5cm 

- Hearts, approx. 3.5cm x 3cm

 

Materials

Yarn - Mark & Create DK

- Purple Haze 

- Bubblegum Pink 

- Pure White 

- Red 

Hook – 4mm 

Scissors  

Tapestry/Wool Needle

Abbreviations

Ch – Chain 

MR – Magic Ring 

SS – Slip stitch 

DC – Double Crochet 

HTR – Half Treble Crochet 

TR – Treble Crochet 

DTR – Double Treble Crochet 

DC2TOG – Double Crochet 2 together 

RS – Right side facing 

STS – Number of stiches 

 

Tension

20 stitches x 24 rows (4 inch square) with the double crochet stitch. 

 

Pattern

 

Envelope

Make x2 of each colour: Purple Haze and Pure White 

To Start: With Purple Haze, chain 32, work in the 2nd chain from the hook. 

Row 1: dc in each ch, turn [31 sts] 

Row 2: Ch1, dc in each st, turn [31 sts] 

Rows 3 - 50: Repeat row 2. 

Row 51: Ch1, dc2tog, 27dc, dc2tog, turn [29 sts] 

Row 52: Ch1, dc2tog, 25dc, dc2tog, turn [27 sts] 

Carry on decreasing each row to form your envelope flap. 

Row 53: Ch1, dc2tog, 23dc, dc2tog, turn [25 sts] 

Row 54: Ch1, dc2tog, 21dc, dc2tog, turn [23 sts] 

Row 55: Ch1, dc2tog, 19dc, dc2tog, turn [21 sts] 

Row 56: Ch1, dc2tog, 17dc, dc2tog, turn [19 sts] 

Row 57: Ch1, dc2tog, 15dc, dc2tog, turn [17 sts] 

Row 58: Ch1, dc2tog, 13dc, dc2tog, turn [15 sts] 

Row 59: Ch1, dc2tog, 11dc, dc2tog, turn [13 sts] 

Row 60: Ch1, dc2tog, 9dc, dc2tog, turn [11 sts]

We are now working in a round and not rows. 

Round 67 (RS): With your yarn still attached dc in each row end on your envelope flap, sides and along the bottom edge to your last st, ss into the first dc of the round. [162 sts] 

 

Assembly

Now with your envelope rs facing, fold you envelope up to the flap. 

Now with your Purple Haze threaded onto your needle, whip stitch back loop only the edges together on both sides on your envelope. Then turn your envelope inside out. 

Fasten off and sew ends in. 

 

Hearts

Make x5 in Bubblegum Pink

To Start: With Bubblegum Pink, make a MR.  

Round 1: Ch3, 3dtr, 3tr, dtr, 3tr, 3dtr, ch3, ss all into the ring, pull tight, leave a long tail for sewing onto your envelope. [13 sts] 

 

Assembly

Now sew your hearts onto the front of your envelope. Use your long tail, place your heart onto your envelope and sew round the heart in place on your envelope. 

Fasten off and sew ends in. 

 

Make another envelope in Pure White and a red heart.
