Get creative this Halloween with these fun and easy paper pumpkin garlands. A little bit like paper dolls, they’re simple to make, great for all ages, and can be adapted to whatever paper you have to hand. Use up scraps, old magazines, colourful paper or leftover craft supplies to create a whole collection of pumpkins, each with its own look and personality.

What You'll Need:

  • - Coloured paper
  • - Pencil
  • - Scissors
  • - Glue stick
  • - Googly eyes
  • - Pens

How to Make a Paper Pumpkin Garland

Step 1: With your paper horizontally in front of you, fold it in half to bring the short sides together and then fold it half again the same way.

Step 2: Draw your pumpkin shape onto the folded paper, making sure the sides of the pumpkin reach the folded edges. This will allow the paper to fold properly while still giving you the shape of a pumpkin when it’s opened out. Cut out.

Step 3: Open the folded paper to see your paper pumpkins.

Step 4: Repeat with different colour papers and try some different shapes.

Step 5: Apply some glue to the end of a set of pumpkins and attach it to the next to create a long garland. Tip: You could use these as they are if you fancy a really simple way to decorate your home!

Step 6: Stick on some googly eyes and draw on some simple faces if you want to take things a bit further.
