Tension
11 stitches x 4 rows (5cm x 5cm) with treble crochet stitch.
Pattern
Snowflake Square — make x6
To Start: In Pure White start with a MR, ch1.
Round 1: 16tr into the ring, pull tight [16 sts]
Round 2: Ch1, *(tr, ch2, tr), skip 1; repeat from * 7 more times, ss [16 sts & 8 ch2 spaces)
Round 3: Ss into ch2 space, ch1, *(2tr, ch2, 2tr) in ch2 space; repeat from * 7 more times, ss [32 sts & 8 ch2 spaces]
Round 4: Ss into next tr and then into ch2 space, ch1, *(3tr, ch2, 3tr) in ch2 space; repeat from * 7 more times, ss [48 sts & 8 ch2 spaces]
Fasten off Pure White and attach Slate Blue into any ch2 space.
Round 5: Ch1, *(2tr, ch2, 2tr) in ch2 space, 3tr, 1tr between shells, tr, htr, dc, ss, dc, htr, tr, 1tr between shells, 3tr; repeat from * 3 more times, ss [76 sts & 4 ch2 spaces]
Round 6: Ss into next tr and then into ch2 space, ch1, *(2tr, ch2, 2tr) in ch2 space, 6tr, 7htr, 6tr; repeat from * 3 more times, ss [92 sts & 4 ch2 spaces]
That is your square complete! Now make x5 more and your squares should measure 12.5cm x 12.5cm.
Assembly
Lay out your squares as above.
Hold your squares right side facing each other and whip stitch your squares together along the red lines as per the picture above.
Now all your squares are joined you are going to fold your book cover as below and sew up the side seams.
Now join the Slate Blue to your book cover on the flap in the ch2 corner space in the middle.
Ch 25 and ss into the other ch2 corner space.
Fasten off and sew ends in.
Now you’re going to make a button.
In Pure White start with a MR, ch1.
Round 1: 16tr into the ring, pull tight [16 sts]
Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Thread this tail onto your needle and sew on like a button (leaving the outer edge free, so your chain goes around your button) into the middle of the front of your book sleeve, see picture below for reference. Fasten off and sew your last end in.
